8thGeneration Heirloom is produced by tea maker Mr. Su, an 8th generation tea maker who still lives on top of the legendary Tung Ting Mountain. This tea is unique because it is made according to historical and traditional methods of making and enjoying Tung Ting oolong teas. The tea trees are grown nearby Tung Ting mountain, at an elevation of 700 meters (2297 feet). This tea presents a bold flavor resulting from a higher oxidation level of 40% and the tea maker’s painstaking emphasis on slow charcoal fire roasting in small batches over several weeks.
Medium Roast presents a deep amber color when brewed. It has a clear roasted flavor without being bitter. Did you know that a good roast can "mature" and become even better with time? The smokey roasted aroma has "settled" into the background, allowing the tea's complex fruity, floral, and honey aromas to shine through.
